APFFLON LAUDS THE APPOINTMENT OF WALE ADENIYI AS NEW CUSTOMS’ HELMSMAN
** Congratulates Acting IGP, Egbetokun and Hadiza Bala Usman

Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria-APFFLON has congratulated the newly appointed Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, dsm, fnipr, psc(+).
Adeniyi who replaces Col. Hammed Ali, Rtd., is a seasoned Customs Officer with over 30 years experience in Customs administration, covering Strategic and operational responsibilities.
The Acting CG, who has built strong relationships with stakeholders over the years as the Organization’s Spokesperson has as well served the Nigeria Customs in various capacities.
In a congratulory message signed by the National President of APFFLON, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, and made available to the media, he described the new Comptroller General(CG) as a thorough bred officer and seasoned strategist, expressing optimism that he would reposition the organization for optimum performance.
Ogunojemite urged the Acting CG to quickly review some very unfriendly policies that have impacted negatively on trading activities saying that some policies implemented by his predecessor, Col. Hameed Ali, Rtd., did not only cripple trading activities but created a negative impression of Customs as freight forwarders and traders began to see them as those frustrating economic activities by creating unnecessary bottlenecks. Otunba Ogunojemite said he was optimistic that the new CG would change the narratives and reposition the organization for greater glory.
In the same vein, the National President of APFFLON in the message, felicitated DIG Kayode Egbetokun who has been appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to replace Mr. Usman Baba as the Inspector General of Police in Acting Capacity pending his confirmation by the National Assembly in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Similarly, APFFLON has also congratulated Former Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala – Usman, on her recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Special Adiviser(SA) on Policy and Coordination.
In the congratulory message, the National President of APFFLON, described Hadiza as a “capable hand”, pointing out that she spearheaded positive reforms at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) that generated more revenue for the Federal Government.
According to Ogunojemite, ” it is a common knowledge that during her time at NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman ensured full implementation of all the Federal Government policies, including the Treasury Single Account (TSA), she is a reformer and seasoned administrator, APFFLON is wishing the trio well as they carry out their statutory responsibilities.”
