THE MINISTER OF TRANSPORT, RT.HON CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI.

The Hon. Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi, has been applauded for his fairness and neutrality on Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria-CRFFN, planned election.

THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF APFFLON, OTUNBA FRANK OGUNOJEMITE.

The Minister’s extension of invitations to all contestants who purchased forms for CRFFN election into its Governing Board has received commendations from Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria-APFFLON.

The group in a press release signed by its National President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, and made available to the media, applauded the Minister for his fairness to all the categories that form CRFFN membership.

The Minister, in a notification letter on his behalf, signed by Mr.Ewache A. Victor , Deputy Director, Inland Container Depot, extended invites to the contestants to a meeting slated for Friday 26th November,2021, at Federal Ministry of Transportation Conference Room, where issues bordering on the forthcoming Council election are expected to be addressed.

In the press release, APFFLON expressed optimism that perfect deliberation and fair decisions would prevail during the meeting.

” APFFLON is happy that the Honourable Minister has demonstrated fairness by the general invitation. Besides, APFFLON, as an advocacy group, has strongly condemned the dirty politics that has bedeviled the planned Council election which ought to have been done and dusted before now”.

” Recall that APFFLON recently berated the Registrar of the Council for excluding individuals and corporate bodies who form part of the Council’s membership as provided by the Act establishing it, from a meeting he invited only the Presidents and their Secretaries on the 10th of November,2021, at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos. We at APFFLON protested against the invitation of one out of the three categories that form the Council’s membership as it is a clear violation of Section 4 of the Act.”

“The Honourable Minister of Transportation has proven that he has a listening ear, having invited all the contestants and not only those being sponsored by the so called”accredited associations”.

“We appreciate the Hon. Minister for taking a bold step toward finding a lasting solution to the lingering imbroglios. We also want to advise the Minister not to take seriously those whose interests lie on the sharing of Practitioners Operating Fee (POF)”.

” The expectations of every Stakeholder is a free and fair CRFFN Governing Board election as there is need for radical change in the industry. We strongly believe in the ability of the Minister as well as his uncompromising stance on conducting a ranchor free election,” the group stated.
