ISTDAL, WOMEN’S WING, ELECTS CAROLE CHIKA MMONU AS PRESIDENT

The Imo State Towns Development Association, Lagos (ISTDAL), has elected Honourable (Lolo) Carole Chika Mmonu, as President of the Women’s wing of the association,to take charge of the 7th Assembly billed to take off in January 2022.
Honorable (Lolo) Carole Chika Mmonu clinged the 1st position after a landslide victory in a keenly contested election.
The election which was supervised by A 3 Man Electoral Committee chaired by Hon. Kingsley Iwuanyanwu, and observed by the Special Assistant to the Liaison Officer, Sir Tony Ezeji, and other representatives of the association was adjudged the best in the history of ISTDAL. The election took place on the 26th of September, 2021, at the Imo State Liaison Office, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Other executive officers elected include Hon. (Lady) Celine Ogu, as 1st Vice President, Hon. Eziada Ego Ijiaku was returned unopposed as 2nd Vice president.
The post of the General Secretary went to Hon. (Mrs.) Nkechi Thompson, while Hon. (Mrs.) Anne Ejuka was elected as Public Relations Officer of the group. the Financial Secretary position went to Hon. (Lolo) Vivian Igwe, While Hon. (Mrs.) Clementina Chukwu was returned unopposed as group’s Treasurer. The post of Provost and Welfare Officers were won by Hon. (Lolo) Anthonia Mmadike and Hon. Mrs. Flora Mbata respectively.
Other executive positions were Assistant General Secretary, which went to Honourable Oluchi Muoneke, Hon.Ruth Nkwocha, Assistant Financial Secretary, Assistant Welfare Officer, went to Hon. Maria Nwosu while Hon. Cynthia Aguzie won the post of Assistant Public Relations Officer.
Speaking after the election, the President General, Honourable (Chief) Chris Ekeocha appealed for calm and enjoined the women to corporate with the newly elected officers in other to fulfil their campaign promises of moving ISTDAL to a higher and enviable height.
ISTDAL is a Socio- Cultural, non partisan association and the umbrella body of all registered Imo state town unions in Lagos, aimed at promoting and fostering unity, peace and progress among member towns.
