CANADIAN GATEWAY SCHOOL HOLDS 4TH VALEDICTORY, GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Canadian Gateway School on Saturday, 19th of July, 2025, held her 4th valedictory session and graduation ceremony.
DR. HON. TIMOTHY AWOGBEMI, FNIM, FIOD, CHAIRMAN, CANADIAN GATEWAY SCHOOLS
The ceremony commenced with a valedictory service and subsequently a plethora of programmes that added glamour to it.
Some of the programmes were the launch of her 2025 year book, presentation of prizes to best students, cultural dance, raffle draw, award presentations and cutting of cake.
MR. FELIX ILESANMI, PRINCIPAL, CANADIAN GATEWAY SCHOOLS
The principal, Mr. Felix Ilesanmi, admonished the students to always prioritize the choice of professional courses when choosing their discipline.
In his words, ” l am delighted to address you on this occasion of our Prize Giving Day and Graduation Ceremony. This is a rare opportunity to discuss issues that affect students and youths, not just in Canadian Gateway Schools , but in the larger society”.
” First, l counsel our outgoing students to remain professionally focused in their future endeavours. Discover where you are individually talented and do everything possible to develop it. The world seeks skilled, trained, and talented individuals. There are many professional courses in our universities today; Law, Medicine, Mass Communication, Accounting, Pharmacy, Engineering, to mention a few. As you graduate today, ask yourself: “Where do l belong, and what should l choose from the numerous available courses?”
Let your dreams and goals be geared towards being recognized as professionals. Reading only for the sake of it means trying to become nothing in life”.
“Today, numerous opportunities abound more than in the past. As society evolves, more opportunities spring up. Seize and utilize them for greater success. In doing this, learn to use your time effectively. Time is slippery; not every opportunity or time lost can be regained. The excessive use of android phones by students today is disheartening. Many no longer have time to read but spend countless hours on phones consuming unpalatable content. This drift must stop!”
In her speech, the Vice Principal of Gateway School, Mrs. Francis Sandra, advised the graduating students to remain focused in their academic pursuit.
” To our graduating students, l urge you to remember that academic excellence remains a powerful key that opens doors to countless opportunities. Pursue knowledge with intention. Learn beyond what is taught in classrooms. Ask questions. Read widely. Be thorough in your studies. Each of you has the potential to rise to great heights in your chosen field, but it will require consistency, diligence, sacrifice, and a willingness to embrace challenges rather than avoid them.”
” As we continue to uphold the vision of our school, let us all remember that success is incomplete without character. True scholars are not only known by their grades but by their conduct, discipline, and how they treat others. Your manners, obedience, diligence, and integrity will speak even louder than your certificates wherever you go.”
The Vice Principal profoundly appreciated the parents for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout the academic session, while also acknowledging that their partnership was invaluable in nurturing the students into outstanding individuals.
Meanwhile, the Guest Speaker at the event, Dr. Irinyemi Ademola Benson, admonished the students on morals, and urged them to be good ambassadors of their alma mater. He deeply emphasized on developing good relationship with God, which he said, was the major key to a successful life. He prayed for their success and asked God to grant the parents all that was needed to train their wards to become blessings to their families and to the larger society.
