National Compliance Joint Taskforce Force of Licensed Clearing Agents- NCJTFLCA, has applauded the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) for proffering solution to the intermittent server downtime that resulted in serious financial burden on importers and their agents as well as loss of revenue.

BASHIR ADEWALE ADENIYI, COMPTROLLER GENERAL OF CUSTOMS

In a press release signed by its National President, High Chief Dr. Basil Chudi Nwolisa, and made available to the Prestige Magazine Online and Print, he expressed delight over Customs commitment to modernizing its processes by the initiating and deploying the B’ODOGWU, which he said, would have far- reaching benefits for the economy and the general public.

According to Nwolisa, “after a thorough analysis of the B’Odogwu online customs platform, it’s clear that the initiative has the potential to significantly impact trade facilitation in Nigeria. The advantages, such as streamlined processes, enhanced transparency, and indigenous ownership, are notable. However, the potential disadvantages, including technical issues, implementation challenges, and dependence on infrastructure, must be addressed to ensure the platform’s success.”

The President of the National Compliance Joint Taskforce congratulated the initiators and the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service(NCS), Mr. Bashiru Adewale Adeniyi, saying that all the accolades he has received from Nigerians for his wonderful performance as CGC are well-deserved.

Continuing, Nwolisa stated that “this achievement demonstrates a commitment to modernizing and improving Customs processes, which is expected to have far-reaching benefits for the economy and trade stakeholders.”

“To build on this success, it’s essential to continuously assess the platform’s performance to identify areas for improvement, proactively address potential issues, such as technical glitches and infrastructure limitations, foster collaboration with stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and effective adoption, as well as providing adequate training and support to users to maximize the platform’s benefits.”

By doing so, the B’Odogwu platform can achieve its full potential and contribute to a more efficient, transparent, and effective Customs procedures in Nigeria,” Nwolisa stated.
