The remains of Veteran Maritime Practitioner, Prince Ozo Felix Chukwurah, was on Friday, 12th of June, 2026 laid to rest in his home town Ogwashi- Uku, Anioma South Local Government Area of Delta State.


The burial rites started on Thursday, 11th of June 2026, with an all night wake attended by family members, professional colleagues, friends and business associates, and of course, his kinsmen who gathered to show their respect to a man who accomplished so much in his lifetime.


A requiem mass held at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Umudei, Ogwashi-Uku, was officiated by Very Rev. Fr. Dom Chukwudi and Very Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Odiegwu and over ten other Catholic Priests in the officiating team.


His remains was laid to rest in his compound immediately after the burial service.

Though Prince Ozo Chukwurah died at the age of 65 years but his legacies and lifetime achievements gave people every reason to celebrate him. Dignitaries converged on United Primary School Ogwashi- Uku to pay their last respect to the late Icon.

The Lagos delegation was led by the President General of Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria- ASIMPIN, HRH Eze Amb. Damian Emeka Obianigwe, KSM, JP. Other dignitaries in attendance include the President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders- NAGAFF, High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi(Akuyienwataegwu of Agulu), Former Vice President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents – ANLCA, Dr Kayode Collins Farinto, Chairman/CEO of Five Star Records, Chief Emeka Okonkwo aka E- Money, Former ANLCA Caretaker Committee Chairman, Otunba Abdulaziz Mukaila, Secretary of ASIMPIN Board of Trustees, Chief Dr Eugene Nweke, Chairman, ANLCA Tincan Chapter, Prince Wale Cole, the Vice President of Oodua Maritime, Comrade Ojo Peters Akintoye, Sir Rowland Opara, Chapter Chairmen of ASIMPIN and others numerous to mention.


A novelty match was organized in his honour at Aninshi Primary School field on Saturday, 13th of June 2026 by Ogwashi-Uku Ex- Footballers International.


Born to the family of late Mr Nelson Okolie Chukwurah, then Senior Clerk with Barclays Bank, on the 13th of March 1960 in Yola now Adamawa State.


Young Ozo started his primary school at Asaba at the age of five, five months after his enrollment, the civil war broke out, and his parents left for Onitsha where they experienced the horrors and hostilities of the war. He later completed his primary school in Onitsha and was admitted into Achina Boys High School which was one of the famous and most prestigious colleges in the then East Central States.


He finished his Secondary education with excellent record and then proceeded to the Lagos State University for a law degree (LLB). Due to the death of his father he was graciously employed by the Union Bank and after a while he left the banking sector and ventured into the maritime industry where he trained and became a Licenced Customs Agent.


Late Prince Ozo Felix Chukwurah was Former Chairman, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents – ANLCA TinCan Island Chapter, Former Western Zone Coordinator ANLCA, Member, ANLCA Board of Trustees, Member, Council of Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria -CRFFN, Deputy President, Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria – ASIMPIN, Former President, International Freight Forwarding Association -IFFA, and Member, ASIMPIN Board of Trustees.


Undoubtedly, the demise of Prince Chukwurah has left a vacuum that will be very difficult to fill. May his gentle soul find eternal rest!
