MOPA 2023: CLERICS, OTHERS RECEIVE AWARDS FOR SERVICE TO HUMANITY

Two clerics and other outstanding Nigerians on Monday received the Momentous Prestigious Annual Magazine Personality Awards, tagged MOPA 2023 for service to humanity.
The event, being the maiden edition, had as its theme “Significance of Celebrating Labour and Good Governance in Nigeria”.
The clerics awardees were the General Overseer (G.O) of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Pastor Daniel Kolawole-Olukoya, as the Outstanding Gospel Cleric of the year and the Chief Imam, Araromi Central Mosque, Ipaja Muritaddh Muhammed-Jamiu as the Outstanding Islamic Cleric of the year.
Other awardees whose meritorious services earned them the MOPA recognition were the Public Affairs Director, ADRON Homes and Property Limited, Mr Michael Oyadele as an outstanding Personality in the real estate sector.
The entity, ADRON Homes and Property Limited, a leading name in the property development and mortgage sector was also awarded for its outstanding service at delivering good and affordable houses to people.
The Head of Diplomatic Missions, International Human Rights Commission Nigeria, His Excellency Dr Hezekiah Duru for his contributions in quelling human rights abuses at the domestic level and providing succor to victims to enable them live meaningful lives.
Speaking at the event, the CEO of Momentous Magazine, Pastor Sesan Awobiye, said that, the awards divoed of monetary inducement was to supur service delivery in every facet of the society.
According to him the theme of the award encapsulates the bane of the Nigerian society with a view to encourage those on the right of societal redeeming value to keep it up for others to emulate for an even better society.
“Those entrusted with the public trust own it as an obligation to ensure that services are tailored to better the life of the people with common good delivery at the centre,” he said.
In his appreciation speech at the event, the representative of the G.O of the Mountain of Fire, Pastor Gabriel Abayomi, said that, Nigeria is naturally blessed that people should continue to intercede for the country in prayer for good governance that would take the nation out of the wools.
“The Church is always in prayer for the country for we know that our past is responsible for our present condition therefore it whatever we make out of the present that will shape the future for our younger and unborn generations.
“The concept of this award which is recognising people that are working to advance the course of the people is apt and should be encouraged for the diginity of human labour geared toward human and society well-being.,” he said.
Mrs. Angela Bekederemo of Kans Family Development Nigeria, a social work expert, said that Nigerians should stop the stigma attached to certain jobs and works.
Bekederemo, frowned at the corruption in the public sphere, urged people not stop celebrating people whose sources of affluence were in doubt but celebrate people such as teachers, doctors and others that has tailored their ingenuity toward public good and societal advancement.
The social work expert, spoke on intigrity of labour, encouraged youths to acquire skills to make them relevant in the society and value addition rather than waiting for the non-existence white collar jobs.
She called on the civil public, to keep the state actors on their toes in service delivery to the people by ensuring that they monitor and evaluate their works and policy administration to be in tandem with their promises during the electioneering campaign.
She stressed that holders of public offices hold such position in trust for the people while political actors entered into social contract with the people, therefore should be hold accountable for the society to work.
