The Sea Empowerment Research Centre (SEREC) has commended the election of the Managing Director of Nigeria Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as Vice – President (Africa), International Association for Ports and Harbours.

In a congratulatory message signed by the
Director General,
Sea Empowerment Research, Francis Uchechukwu Aniezechukwu, and made available to The Prestige Blended Magazine Online, SEREC described Dantsoho’s election as a rare honor as well as a defining moment for Nigeria and Africa, adding that it was a clear testimony that leadership embodies the very ideals of transparency, reform, and international best practices that the maritime sector urgently needs.

According to the SEREC, “your emergence at this exalted global platform is not only a personal triumph but also a validation of Nigeria’s capacity to set the pace in international maritime governance.”

“At Sea Empowerment Research Centre, we celebrate this milestone as a beacon of hope for Africa’s trade future. It affirms that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, and your stewardship, the Nigerian Ports Authority has become a symbol of innovation, accountability, and strategic foresight capable of influencing the global discourse on port development and trade facilitation.”

“Your election is a testament to your distinguished career and decades of unwavering commitment and dedication to the service of father land. As one who rose from the ranks to the position of NPA Managing Director, your journey has been inspiring.

SEREC noted that Dr. Dantsoho’s leadership has radically reformed and strengthened efficiency in port operations, and has as well enhanced Nigeria’s global maritime reputation.

According to SEREC, the feat is not only a personal achievement but also a milestone for Nigeria and a credit to the entire African continent. SEREC expressed optimism that Dantsoho would use his new role to build new bridges and foster stronger continental synergy and collaboration that would strategically advance Africa’s position in global maritime administration.

“We trust that God will continue to grant you wisdom and fortitude to advance Africa’s voice on the global stage and to consolidate Nigeria’s leadership role in maritime excellence.”

“Once again, do accept our profound congratulations,” the message read.
