ASIMPIN APPLAUDS ADENIYI’S TENURE EXTENSION

Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria -ASIMPIN has applauded the tenure extension of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR.
The additional one year grant for Adeniyi to remain in office as CG of Customs was made public in a State House press release signed by Mr Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy.

Addressing the media on Thursday, the President General of ASIMPIN, His Royal Majesty, Eze Amb. Damian Emeka Obianigwe KSM, JP, commended the development, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a wise decision.
He noted that the extension of tenure was well deserved for an administrator like Adeniyi who has demonstrated so much capacity and commitment.
He expressed profound delight over what he described as reformative programmes and initiatives of the pragmatic leadership of the CGC.

The PG of ASIMPIN who refers to the CG as a “workaholic” stated that his achievements within a short time inspired the decision of President Tinubu’s administration to extend his tenure.
Furthermore, the Royal Father noted that the appointment of the CGC as Chairman, World Customs Organization (WCO) was an attestation to his giant leadership strides, saying that his administration would remain a reference point within the Service and in the port industry years after his retirement.
