The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agencies (NDLEA) Murtala Mohammed International Airport Command has conferred Ambassador status on the Secretary of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders -NAGAFF MMIA Chapter, Fwdr. Innocent Abu.

According to the agency, the conferment was in recognition of his involvement in the continuous War Against Drug Abuse (WADA).

Speaking at the event which took place at the Secretariate of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Airport Chapter, Ikeja Lagos, the Commander of Narcotics, Airport Command, Mohammed Aminu, said the agency wouldn’t have been making tremendous progress in the war against drug abuse without the support it gets from patriots like Fwdr. Abu. He added that drug abuse was seriously ravaging the youths as its menace had become rampart among teenagers.

The NDLEA Commander who was represented by the Assistant Commander of Narcotics (ACN), Hassan Wandzam, appealed to parents to always monitor their children and the kind of friends they associate with.

Earlier in his welcome address, the NAGAFF Murtala Mohammed Airport Chapter Boss, Fwdr. Udo Onyeka, appreciated NDLEA for creating time despite their busy schedule to sensitize his members on the negative effects of drug abuse on teenagers. He equally urged the Federal Government to create job opportunities for teaming youths.

According to Fwdr. Onyeka, employment opportunities, quality education and other human capital development programmes would be tremendously helpful in the control of drug abuse.

Appreciation the recognition, Fwdr. Innocent Abu who is also a Rotarian said he returned all glory to God Almighty, he promised not to relent in his philantropy and humanitarian services.

According to Fwdr Abu, “gradually we shall win this War Against Drug Abuse. it’s a personal decision which l am committed to, and l will not relent in rendering humanitarian services when and where necessary, so l have no regrets whatsoever”. Abu stated.
