Dr. AZEEZ ABAYOMI MUSTAPHA CONGRATULATES CGC ADENIYI ON HIS ELECTION AS WCO CHAIR

The Managing Principal of AZ De World Cargo Logistics Limited, Fwdr. Dr. Azeez Abayomi Mustapha, has congratulated the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, on his recent election as Chairman of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council.

The election which held on 28th of June, 2025, during the Organization’s 145th/146th WCO Council Meetings in Brussels returned Adeniyi elected as new Chairman of the body.
The election of Adeniyi as WCO Chairman has been adjudged as a great milestone for not only Nigeria, but Africa in general.

In a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to the media, the logistics expert said he was not surprised that the CG of Customs was voted into such prestigious office going by his level of commitment to the office he occupies and his dedication to public service as well as the innovation and speedy transformation he has championed within a short time as Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service.
He described the CGC as a thorough bred officer who has distinguished himself in his career as Customs officer and a public servant.
Dr. Mustapha expressed utmost confidence in both the capacity and ability of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, to lead the organization successfully.
Mustapha stated that Adeniyi has been able to transform the Nigeria Customs Service, and expressed optimism that his new office would further enhance Nigeria’s position in global trade participation and diplomacy.
The World Customs Organization (WCO) is the apex decision-making body in global Customs administration. And his election marks a significant achievement for Nigeria and the continent of Africa.
Meanwhile, Fwdr. Dr. Azeez Abayomi Mustapha, the Managing Principal of AZ De World Cargo Logistics Limited, was recently, honoured with an Award of Excellence for Most Distinguished CEOs by EOM Communications Limited in conjunction with Silverbird Television. And lately, a Gold Award as Outstanding Logistics Service Provider, 2025, by Port Bizness during its Distinguished Customer Service Appreciation Night .
However, Dr. Mustapha, in the congratulatory message to the CGC, wished him divine wisdom, good health and sound mind in the course of his new assignment and beyond.
