APAPA COMMAND CAC, JAIYEOBA INTERFACES WITH STAKEHOLDERS AT A BUSINESS LUNCHEON

The Customs Area Controller, Apapa Command, Comptroller Babajide Jaiyeoba, very recently, engaged stakeholders at a business luncheon.
The event which took place on Thursday, 25th of April at the CAC’s Conference Room was strictly on invitation.
Maritime Practitioners and Senior Officers of the Command were present at the luncheon.
The CAC used the opportunity to appreciate freight forwarders and Customs Brokers for their cooperation and support for the Command. He expressed profound gratitude to stakeholders for their efforts which have translated to the Command’s outstanding revenue records.
Recently, the Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs said it collected N489 billion as revenue for the first quarter of 2024.
This, according to the Command, represented over a hundred percent higher than the N212.5 billion collected in the same period of 2023.
The declaration was contained in a statement signed by the Controller of the Command and made available to the Media by the Customs Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Command, Abubakar Usman, Chief Superintendent of Customs(CSC).
At the luncheon, Comptroller Jaiyeoba commended the officers and stakeholders for their cooperation towards the attainment of the laudable feat, calling for sustained compliance by the government and private sector stakeholders. The CAC went ahead and reminded them that the present Customs management has created a room for multiple benefits for those who operate in compliance with the rules.
Responding, the MD/CEO of Jonka Global Concept Nig. Limited, Sir Johnny Ubaka, assured the CAC that Freight Forwarders would comply with Customs, especially, in the area of declaration in order to assist the Command in achieving its revenue target. Sir Ubaka who expressed delight in the face lift of Apapa Command administrative building commended the new look of the Command and those who committed their time, ideas and money to get it done.
Stakeholders were treated to very sumptuous meal as speaker after speaker pledged support to the CAC, the business luncheon ended on a very cheering note.
