” I came from a family of eight, l am the third child, and by the grace of God, the bread winner of my family.
I came from a very humble background, and God elevated me to where l am today.”
“When l finished my secondary school, l started moving around searching for greener pastures. I went with a friend to Kano but did not understand what was going on there, so l decided to go back to Arondizogu. While at home, l met one of my uncles who was planning his wedding, so l joined him to Lagos which is his base. I knew what l was looking for and to God be the glory, not quite long in Lagos, l met an in-law whom my uncle is marrying the sister, he deals on electronics and to God be glory, he picked interest in me and asked me to serve him. I was very glad in my mind. After serving him for a couple of years, he settled me with what he could, and l started life. I started hustling and praying to God, l was into electronics sales but as time went on, l decided to venture into furniture five years ago. I deal on luxury, hospital, office and school furniture and by the special grace of God, today, we are number one in Africa.”
” My business inspiration came from my mother; my parents were into business, though my father died young; and my mother blessed us and told us to go and prosper.”
I learned electronics business and l know it so well. Business is in my blood, it’s inborn, that is why whatever l touch as business automatically turns to gold . I discovered that staying put in electronics business won’t meet my needs. Oftentimes , l was visiting one of my friends, Okey God International, each time l visited, he would be talking big, he deals on furniture and most of them are sold at high prices. So l had to think again and then decided to go into furniture business. I rented a shop and started the business, today, we are number one in the whole of Africa.”
” I can proudly say that my today is far better than my yesterday, and l give glory to God Almighty because there is nothing we can do without putting God first. Furniture business is good if you can get what the people want, if you can showcase their taste it means you are in business.”
” To be frank, when l started newly, l started with Chinese furniture, l didn’t have the money to bring in furniture from Italy and Turkey. ” We have a lot of challenges and huddles on daily basis. We face Customs, we face power outage, we face bad roads and a lot of other challenges. We are being threatened by high level of insecurity especially in Owerri. The state governors should up their ante, we need them to be proactive in addressing insecurity, high level of unemployment and people’s welfare. I advise them to emulate the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti. I am from Imo State, and l appreciate what Abia State governor has in a very short period of time he took over as governor. Once the insecurity problem is addressed, people will be glad to take their investment home.”
ADVISE FOR THE YOUTHS
” My advise for the youths is that they should be focused and stay away from drugs and other criminalities. They should be humble and ready to acquire knowledge, and above all, they must put God first in whatever they set out to do.”
