ARMED POLICE OFFICERS STORM ALIMOSHO INEC COLLATION CENTER, HIJACK RESULT SHEETS
Collation of National Assembly Elections results at Alimosho Collection Center today was disrupted by armed Policemen suspected to be working with candidate of a particular political party.
According to eyewitness, the Area Commander of Ikotun Area Command in company with over 20 Police personnel stormed the collation center at about 3pm in three trucks, rushed into the Collation Center and hijacked the entire process.
An eyewitness account narrated that the candidate of the party came with the Area Commander and other Police officers siezed the original result sheet and swapped it with an already written result which they went ahead to announce in favour of their party.
An Army Officer at the venue that tried to stop them was resisted by a couple gunshots in the air.
When the Area Commander was confronted by Agents of other parties, they were told to go to Court for redresss.
An agent of a particular party, who gave his name Mr.Ajogu, described what happened at the collation center as very unfortunate, ” what happened at Alimosho Collation Center this afternoon was a brazen display of impunity and lawlessness, this is not democracy, l have been witnessing political thuggery but this particular one today is the height of it all. ”
“The Ikotun Area Commander,Mr.Bayo Suleiman, stormed the collation center with over 20 police officers in three trucks, accompanied by the Candidate and supporters of the APC, hijacked the entire process, siezed the original result sheets, swapped it with the one they came with and announced an entirely different result in favour of a particular party and went away with every other material, asking anyone who is not satisfied to seek redress in the Law Court.”
According to Mr. Ajogu, “it was a political robbery, l was amazed seeing police officers storm a collation center to disrupt the entire process, it is unbelievable, and that is what is being witnessed across board.”
