” I want to also congratulate Prince Segun Odutan on his emergence as Vice President of ANLCA, and also the newly elected members of the National Executive Committee- NECOM.”
” I have no doubt in my mind that the new leadership will reposition ANLCA as the foremost umbrella body for maritime practitioners.”
“ANLCA is one big family, and l want to urge every member, young and old, to come together irrespective of interest and support the new leadership. We must at this juncture, put everything that happened in the past five years behind us as what is required in our quest for lasting peace is unity. Maximum cooperation among members is very key if we truly desire a strong and progressive ANLCA.”
” On this note, l want to say a big thank you to everyone that got involved in one way or the other to see that peace returned to ANLCA. I want to commend Customs Consultative Council for wading into the crises. I want to also commend Dr. Kayode Collins Farinto for his resilience, courage and sagacity. I thank him and others who contested in the NECOM elections for their sportsmanship, it really shows that they want ANLCA to move forward.”
” I strongly believe that the emergence of Nwokeoji, Prince Segun Odutan and other elected members of NECOM will reinvigorate the association.”
According to Onochie, “the crises which rattled the association for five consecutive years, no doubt, impacted negatively on freight forwarders as some unfriendly policies were implemented by Customs without carrying stakeholders along, they were never questioned neither did they face any resistance. Some of those policies have today, subjected freight forwarders to untold hardships as many are now doing practically nothing. We strongly believe that the new leadership will speak up and defend the interest of freight forwarders.”
The MD/CEO, Real Passion Nigeria Limited, expressed appreciation for the Association Electoral Commission (ASECO) chaired by Nze Aloy Igwe, describing the conduct of the election as orderly, free and fair. Onochie stated that Nwokeoji’s victory was the will of God since it reflected the wish of the majority, he urged him and his team to be magnanimous in victory by extending the olive branch to those who contested against them as all belong to one big family.
