The Coordinator of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders-NAGAFF 100% Compliance Team, Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko, has been advised to stop usurping the exalted office of the National President of NAGAFF.
The Chairman of KLT Chapter of NAGAFF, Engr. Emmanuel Umeadi, on a telephone chat with The Prestige Blended Magazine Online described most of the actions being taken by the Team Coordinator as unwarranted display of high-handedness,and advised him to stop usurping the office of the National President of NAGAFF.
The KLT Chairman who expressed displeasure over the recent statement of the Team Leader in an interview he granted to an Online news platform in which he (Tanko) boasted that he was not accountable to the National President of NAGAFF, Umeadi pointed out that that very statement by Tanko was an attestation to his gross disrespect as well as total disregard to the office of the National President of NAGAFF.
Umeadi went ahead to say that “the office of the President of NAGAFF is an exalted office and should be respected by every member of the Association irrespective of the position the person occupies as every other position falls under the supervision of the President. Apart from the office of the Founder of NAGAFF every other position falls under the supervision of the National President, so for Tanko not reporting directly to NAGAFF President makes him to see himself as extraordinary and that for me, is a slight on the office of the President”.
Recall that the NAGAFF 100% Team had on Monday carried out a protest against Clarion Bonded Terminal at Alakija over unverified claim of 19 containers that disappeared from the custody of TinCan Command of the Nigeria Customs.
In a press release made available to the media, the KLT Chapter of NAGAFF condemned the picketing of the Bonded Terminal by Ibrahim Tanko led Compliance Team, stating that the allegation by the team was a mere subterfuge targeted at selfish goal.
Recall that the 100% Compliance Team have since last year 2021, been demanding for the release of 14 vehicles that have gone through every clearing process but still withheld by the management of Clarion Bonded Terminal over claims of unpaid charges running into millions of Naira. The team have been demanding for the unconditional release of the vehicles to their owners.
However, Engr. Umeadi in a chat with The Prestige Blended Magazine Online, said that the claim by Alhaji Tanko that the National President of NAGAFF was in the know of the protest staged at Clarion Bonded Terminal was not true stating that the only thing he took from Tanko’s version of the story was that the National President was invited by the new TinCan CAC since the imbroglio is between NAGAFF and Clarion Bonded Terminal.
Furthermore, Engr. Umeadi pointed out that “for the fact that every office holder in NAGAFF is accountable to the Founder does not in anyway exempt any executive member, irrespective of position, from being accountable and paying due allegence to the office of the National President of NAGAFF. Umeadi stated that “for better clarification, Alhaji Tanko is not in the position to speak for NAGAFF because he is neither the President nor the Public Relations Officer, it also amounts to meddlesomeness going to the media to say that there is no crises in NAGAFF, it is the office of the President or the PRO that can speak on the happenings in NAGAFF”.
The KLT Chairman described as laughable Tanko’s display of ignorance by saying that Clarion Bonded Terminal is not under his jurisdiction as KLT Chapter Chairman. ” Now tell me who is the fool here having failed to know who is overseeing where, though Clarion is under TinCan Command but it is under the supervision of KLT Chairman and NAGAFF made it that way. So l am advising him to ask questions for better clarification because he is still a new member in NAGAFF.
Meanwhile, according to Alhaji Tanko in a chat with an online media platform, the TinCan Area Controller had invited the leadership of NAGAFF over the lingering issue, promising to get to the root of the matter. The CAC, according to Tanko, questioned the authority of the terminal operator to withhold vehicles that had been duly released by Customs, promising to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
