Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria Electoral Committee ASIMPEC, on Tuesday, 27th of May, 2025, concluded KLT Chapter election

 

 

The election, which was supervised by the Secretary of ASIMPIN Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Dr. Eugene Nweke KSM, former President General of ASIMPIN, Comrade Ben Ndee, the secretary of ASIMPIN Elders’ Forum, Dr. Ben Nwokeka, the General Secretary of ASIMPIN, Prince Okey Egbuchulam, the Public Liaison Officer (PLO) Inter Agencies Affairs, Chief Henry Ikwue and Head of Special Duties, ASIMPIN Headquarters, Mcanthony Udochukwu Onuoha, was very peaceful, free and fair.

Chief Chukwunonso Chukwudinma (Ebube Igbo) was returned unopposed as Chairman KLT Chapter. Other officers were also returned unopposed except the office of the Vice Chairman which was keenly contested by Sir Eto Nwilo and Chief Nnaemeka Obiodum. Nwilo secured Forty Seven votes to beat Obiodum who garnered 26 votes.

 

 

Addressing the Chapter after the election, Chief Nweke thanked the contestants and those who made out time to be part of the electoral process for their peaceful conduct and display of brotherhood. He tasked the elected officers on teamwork and genuine commitment to the progress of the chapter and service to Ndi Igbo. On behalf of the President General, HRM Eze Amb. Damian Emeka Obianigwe KSM JP., Chief Nweke commended the electoral body for due diligence, and urged those on the electoral committee to always give their best to the association whenever their service was needed.

 

 

Speaking , the Chairman of ASIMPEC, Mr. Chijioke Nkwazema, commended KLT Chapter for their conduct and total compliance during and after the election.

 

 

Certificates of Return were presented to elected officers by the Chairman, Mr. Chijioke Nkwazema . Some officers from PTML Chapter who were not physically present to receive theirs during the official presentation on Tuesday the 13th of May, 2025 , were on hand to receive theirs as well.

 

 

Meanwhile, elections are yet to be conducted for Muritala Muhammad International Airport Chapter as well as for few offices at Ikorodu Chapter.

 

 

However, the date of inauguration of elected Chapter officers will be announced in due course .
