By Mcanthony Onuoha
The Managing Principal of AZ De World Cargo Logistics Ltd., (AKA AZ Logistics), Fwdr. Azeez Abayomi Mustapha, has described the Lekki Deep Seaport as “a state- of- the -art facility and the best in the whole of West Africa.”
The Logistics Expert and seasoned Freight Forwarder, made the commendation after his recent tour of the facility.
According to Fwdr. Mustapha, ” the Lekki Deep Seaport can be adjudged the best in Seaport in the whole of Africa because the operational arrangement from the point of loading to the exit point is incredible, the equipment at the seaport are top notch, the “Ready To Go” (RTG) arrangement from container to shore is perfect. I went for Customs examination, it didn’t take them up to 30 Seconds to scan a container. So if a container can be scanned within 30 Seconds, then imagine how many containers that can be scanned in one hour. Lekki Deep Seaport is fantastic. ”
” I and my team were taken to the operation room where everything is displayed, right from where the vessel is on the high Sea to the quay where it is unloaded. As far as Lekki Seaport is concerned, if a pin drops on the ground, the control room operators will see it as it drops. In terms of safety, fantastic, in terms of cleanliness, fantastic, Customs operations, excellent, stakeholder’s engagement, splendid, the level of professionalism is incredible. Lekki Deep Seaport is a game changer as far as port operation in Nigerian maritime industry is concerned.”
” In the issue of accessibility of which the road Transport system is very key, because what ever means taken to ship your consignment out of the port must end up on haulage to get to its final destination, be it by rail, or barge, or whatever means, a truck must take it to its final destination by road. From Eleko Junction is very bad, the entire stretch of the corridor needs to be given adequate attention, though l believe the Authorities are working on it. From Eleko Junction to Lekki Deep Seaport is fantastic, the road is smooth and construction work is ongoing. I want to believe that what we experienced at Tincan- Apapa Ports corridor won’t repeat on Lekki Deep Seaport access road. I want to say kudos to the operators of Lekki Deep Seaport and to those who initiated the fantastic idea, and also invested in it to make it a reality.”
” The Lekki Deep Seaport and Dangote Refinery should be commended by well meaning Nigerians, we should be proud of these two important facilities and give them all the support needed to thrive as well.”
