The leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the aegis of Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, fnli, HFCPSP, in convoy of his National Administrative Council (NAC) paid a courtesy visit to President -General (Emeritus), Comrade Emmanuel Anthony Nted in his Festac home, Lagos, today, 19th January, 2024.

The August visit to the enigmatic labour administrator, former Dockworkers President and the immediate past PG of the Union, who also served as the Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) was for the good interest of the Union.

He (Nted) exited the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria on a glorious note, leaving a huge legacy as he handed over to the indefatigable incumbent Prince Adeyanju, who immediately keyed into Nted’s principles and philosophy of leadership carrying out in totality his dynamic footprints of leadership. And this is evident in the huge successes and achievements recorded so far within the Union and the entire maritime sector.

According to the MWUN Head of Media, Comrade John Ikemefuna, the official visit was indeed informed on the PG Emeritus successful return from a British Hospital, where he went for a routine medical check up. The visit which  comprised all the top executives and administrative staffers was to also wish him a sound mind, pray for him for longevity in good health and to felicitate him and his household for the new year 2024.

During the visit, the PG popularly known as the “Son of God” made references from the Holy Books, saying that , “in everything we do in life, men should always be of good cheers at all times as we try to forgive one another”. Nted was full of praises for the man he calls “Ade”, when he said, “Ade” did not let him down as the President – General of the Union when he bequeathed to him the exalted position of MWUN.

He also admonished all the executives of the Union to genuinely support and cooperate with “Ade”, especially as his tenure is rounding off, praying that God Almighty will guide him and give him the divine wisdom to leave for the Union a better successor.

Prince Adeyanju in company of his branch presidents and top executives reciprocated in same vein, thanking him for all the good works he accomplished while he served the Union, remembering his digital Union legacy, his relative peace initiatives in the Union had continued to thrive and some other quality leadership legacies which the present administration had continued to build upon for the generality well being of the Union, believing same that those legacies will continue to be the Union’s symbol and batton of enduring relay.
