…draws govt’s attention to monstrous gridlock on ports corridors.

The National President of Association of Nigerian Customs Brokers – ANCB and Convener, Concerned Nigerian Freight Forwarders- CNFF, Dr. Basil Chudi Nwolisa, has congratulated Christian faithful as they celebrate Christmas.
Dr. Nwolisa in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to The Prestige Blended Magazine Online, stated that there was every reason to be grateful to God Almighty. According to Nwolisa, “if not for anything, the gift of life and the grace to be part of yet another Christmas celebration is enough reason to thank God. This is the last Month of the year and God has been faithful to His people. Yes, there is hardship in the land due to inflation and very unfriendly economic policies, people are passing through hell, and even as we are celebrating there are families who can not afford food to eat. And we must always bear in mind that Christmas is all about love, in celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we also need to show love to humanity in whatever way we can, it is not about preaching it, we must demonstrate it anywhere we find ourselves.”
“As a maritime practitioner, l want to wish all my professional colleagues, Officers and Men of the Nigeria Customs Service- NCS, management and staff of agencies of government within the maritime industry very blissful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New year in advance.”
“I still want to use this opportunity to appeal to the federal government to look into the bad state of ports roads, the Oshodi Apapa corridor has been taken over by trucks and fuel tankers hampering both vehicular and human traffic. We are beginning to believe that something is absolutely wrong somewhere since it is now obvious that both the State and federal governments are completely overwhelmed by this very ugly situation that has become a national embarrassment. If the government mean to clear the gridlock it won’t take a full day to do that, but the problem is the cabal that are feeding fat on the crises, they have vowed never to allow free flow of traffic on ports corridors, and l believe there are powerful forces behind them.”
“We can’t continue like this as a nation, the executive order on Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) has been trashed, the call up system- ETO of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) has caused more damage, the racketeering is on, apart from the money paid to truckers to load and convey container to a particular destination , importers and their agents now pay almost N300,000 for their trucks to gain access to the ports in the ETO regime.”
“I want to believe that there is nothing the government can not do if it sets out to do it unless the will power is not there because of vested interest. At this time and era when countries around the world are developing and bringing about innovation in every sector, our systems are breaking down as things keep getting worse. We can’t continue like this, we need to rejig every system and advance in technology to make life easier for citizens.”
“On behalf of my family, the ANCB and CNFF , l wish Christians all over the world merry Christmas and a prosperous New year in advance.”
