Imo State Towns Development Association Lagos (ISTDAL), Women Wing, on Sunday, 25th of January, 2025, inaugurated New executive officers elected to serve for a period of three years.

The event which took place at Imo State Liaison Office, Victoria Island, Lagos, under the distinguished Chairmanship of Mr. Nwamarabia IG Chukwukadibia was graced by Town Union leaders and there Representatives, Former leaders of ISTDAL and illustrious Sons and Daughters of Imo State, resident in Lagos.
The New President of ISTDAL, Women Wing, Lady Lolo Ijeoma Harold Okoro, took over the mantle of leadership from the immediate Hon. Lolo Carole Chika- Mmonu.

The newly inaugurated officers that are to pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years are as follows:
Lady Ijeoma Harold Okoro – President, Mrs. Chimezie Iwuji- 1st Vice President, Mrs. Betty Okere- 2nd Vice President, Mrs. Adline Nwakuna- Secretary, Mrs. Oluchi Muoneke- Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Chinyere Duru- Financial Secretary, Mrs. Chinyere Ajaemu- Assistant Financial Secretary, Mrs. Rose Nwankwo- Treasurer, Eucharia Duru- Assistant PRO, Mrs. Flora Mbata- Welfare Officer, Mrs. Janet Nnadi- Assistant Welfare Officer, Mrs. Ngozi Uzoma- Chief Provost and Mrs. Maria Nwaosu- Assistant Provost.
In her inaugural speech, the President of ISTDAL, Women Wing, Lady Ijeoma Harold Okoro, extended her heart felt appreciation to everyone who honoured the invitation, saying that the victory was not hers alone but for those who believe in the unity and progress of the association. She dedicated her victory to all ISTDAL women. In her words, ” this victory is not mine alone, it is ours. It is a win for unity, for progress, and for the values that bind us as sisters, daughters, mothers, and builders of Imo State Town’s Development Association, Lagos (ISTDAL).

As l take up the mantle of leadership, l do so with a firm promise: to uphold the dignity of our women, to stand by the vulnerable, to foster love over division, and to lead with both strength and tenderness. The next three years will be a journey of collective upliftment, growth, and renewed energy.”

“Together, let us build on the solid foundation laid by our predecessors, especially, the likes of Chief Mrs. Lillian Amakor, we will continue in the part she towed to bring out the face of ISTDAL. We will continue with skill acquisition and empowerment, and together, let us make Imo State Town’s Development Association Lagos, Women Wing, a beacon of light, unity and love.”

Furthermore, Lady Ijeoma Harold Okoro, reeled out some of the expectations of her leadership, which include:
* A United and one purposeful Women Wing.
* Team work and a rebranded women wing with positive recognition from relevant bodies, organizations and state governments.
* Restoration of government patronages and empowerment to ISTDAL women. And
* To treat all women with respect, honour and dignity.

She pledged to do her best possible to bring honour back to the Women Wing, and urged the women to join hands with her to revive ISTDAL.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Nwamarabia IG Chukwukadibia appealed for lasting peace in ISTDAL, he cautioned those purveyors of trouble to have a rethink and work towards the restoration of lasting peace, love and unity in the association.

The Former President of ISTDAL, Women Wing, Chief Mrs. Lillian Amako, congratulated the new executive and profoundly thanked everyone that attended the event describing their presence as a huge sacrifice and a show of solidarity with the new leadership of ISTDAL, Women Wing. She pledged to always be there for the new leadership. The President emeritus prayed for the new President, asking God Almighty to grant her and her team the needed wisdom and guidance to chart a new cause for ISTDAL, Women Wing.

Some of those in attendance pledged financial support for the new leadership to enable it start off on a strong footing. The event ended on a very peaceful note .
