ASIMPIN TINCAN CHAPTER MARKS ITS MAIDEN GET TOGETHER IN GRAND STYLE

ASIMPIN TO HONOUR ITS PRESIDENT GENERAL ON HIS CORONATION ANNIVERSARY

 

 

Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria -ASIMPIN, Tincan Chapter, on Saturday 28th of June, 2025, marked its maiden GET TOGETHER.

The ceremony which was organized by the new Chapter Executive, led by Chief Isaac Chinaka Ndukwe (Okwadike), aimed at reconciling aggrieved members and reuniting them for lasting peace and collective prosperity.

The event which held at Obu Awka Hall, by Apple Junction, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, was graced by national officers from ASIMPIN Headquarters, including members of ASIMPIN Board of Trustees (BoT).

The General Secretary of ASIMPIN, Prince Okey Egbuchulam, represented the Royal Father of the day, and President General of ASIMPIN, HRM Eze Amb. Damian Chukwuemaka Obianigwe KSM, JP., who was unavoidably absent, while the Former President General of the association and Member of the Board of Trustees, Comrade Ben Uche Nde, represented the Special Guest of Honour, Chairman, ASIMPIN Board of Trustees (BoT), High Chief Peter Oge Obih- Dim Ogbuagu.

 


Delivering his speech, the Executive Chairman of ASIMPIN, Tincan Chapter, Chief Isaac Chinaka Ndukwe (Okwadike), expressed delight over the huge turn up, and profoundly thanked everyone in attendance. He appreciated all the Chapter executives and members for their unwavering support.


Ndukwe extended an olive branch to all those who felt aggrieved during and after the election to join him to move ASIMPIN Tincan Chapter forward.
In his words, ” now that campaigns are over, it is time to get down to business. I urge all our members to please put on your thinking caps so as to develop programmes that will bring progress to the Chapter. We will assume to a reasonable extent that we did not see or notice some of the aggressive and hate activities brought to bear during and after the elections. This decision was reached as a strategy to avoid distractions.”

 


” We shall be fully committed to the welfare of every Igbo dessent in Tincan Chapter, especially that of our members.”

“We shall prioritize capacity building for members by organizing seminars and workshops, we shall be accountable and transparent.”

” We will ensure robust engagement with relevant agencies in the port especially Customs.”

“We shall intensify efforts in securing a befitting Secretariat outside Tincan for our Chapter, and introduce an insurance policy that will cover the entire members of our great Chapter”.

“ASIMPIN, Tincan Chapter shall hold regular meetings, and we shall give Obi Ndi Igbo at Tincan a facelift by way of renovation. Our administration is open and ready to buy into your opinions and ideas if sold to us, to make ASIMPIN, Tincan Chapter outstanding.”

He promised to give room for the formation of ASIMPIN, Women Wing, saying that gender sensitivity was of great essence, assuring that the Women leader would soon be appointed for Tincan Chapter.

The highpoint of the event that made the hall erupt with jubilation was the reunion of High Chief Ossy Okolichi, Ezebo 1 of Ibusa Ancient Kingdom and Ogbueshi Sonniel Ebonyem Onochie (Agbalusia),Vice Chairman, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents -ANLCA, Tincan Chapter, after a protracted rivalry .

Kolanuts were sold to raise fund for the new executive to hit the ground running. Present at the event include the Former President General of ASIMPIN, High Chief Isdore Martins Ozoemena Agoha, Chief of Staff to the PG of ASIMPIN, Chief Lawrence Ubah (Ugwu Ndigbo), National President of Maritime Elders Forum, Chief Dr. Paulinus Shedrach (Omeudo), the Secretary, ASIMPIN Elders’ Forum, Dr. Ben Nwokeka, the Former Interim President of ANLCA, Chief Pius Ujubuoñu (Ozodinobi), the Secretary General of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders-NAGAFF, Comrade Godfrey Emeka Nwosu KSM, Rff., the, ASIMPIN BoT Member, and Pioneer President of Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (ARFFN), Dr. Frank Ukor, Vice Chairman of NAGAFF, Tincan Chapter, Chief Dr. Ifeanyi Emoh, ASIMPIN Chapter Chairman of Apapa was ably represented by the Vice Chairman. Seme, KLT and Ikorodu Chairmen were in attendance as well.
