GROUP SEEKS COLLABORATION
WITH MARAN IN INSURANCE REPORTAGE

The nation’s Maritime industry is said to be import dependent, ocean driven with so many risks which could arise from the point of embarkation through to the point of destination of cargoes hence the need for insurance policies awareness if the needed growth must be achieved in the industry.
The need therefore to deepen insurance awareness inherent in Maritime industry operations and the importance of insurance protection in all other sectors of the nation’s economy cannot be overemphasized.
It was for this reason that a robust collaboration between Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria, MARAN and a leading Insurance Publication outfit is formed to synergize towards deepening insurance awareness in the nation’s Marine and Blue Economy Ministry for a difference.
Emphasizing on years of strong and robust reportage recorded by MARAN, the Lead Editor, Insurance Publication Limited, Mr Ifeanyi Uguandu, reposed confidence in the Association, as a powerful Medium which can create awareness of insurance via it’s numerous reports which can in – turn, harness the Maritime industry for immense growth and tremendous job opportunities for the teeming young Nigerians.
Mr Uguandu stressed the need to sensitize more and more people in businesses on what they can do to ensure that the economy, as relates to the Marine and Blue Economy, sustains a great number of the population and create more jobs.
He tasked the Heads of the Agencies or Organisations to always have an identity of accident victims, probe into knowing those involved in such accidents so as to take it up towards ascertaining whether there was insurance cover for the victims, who insured them, locally or internationally.
These information according to Mr Uguandu, would always establish those responsible for insurance claims and the Insurance Company to pay for the losses.
It is believed that the collaboration between Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria, MARAN and Insurance Publication Limited would really go a long way in harnessing the works of the two Groups, in analysing issues that bother on insurance in the industry, a situation which prior to this time, was really relegated to mere mention but without details.
