By Joy Enamuna
The President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, has applauded the decision of the apex court over the nullification of the decision of the Appeal Court that declared Mr. Haruna Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the March 25th 2023 governorship election over the Independent National Electoral Commission’s(INEC) declaration of Abba Yusuf of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) as winner of the election.
Chief Ezisi while expressing joy equally commended the Judiciary for taking a bold step to see that the wish of the people was not upturned in the Supreme Court verdict which reinstated Mr. Yusuf as the duly elected Governor of Kano State.

The judgement which NNPP and NAGAFF members had anxiously waited for since last year finally put smile in the faces of maritime stakeholders. Adding that he hoped that the good people of Kano State would now be given the opportunity to enjoy the dividends of democracy which made them to vote enmass for Gov. Abba Yusuf and the NNPP at the poll.
Ezisi congratulated the governor, Mr. Abba Yusuf and the people of Kano State as well as the Founder of the party, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam.
While delivering judgement on Friday, the chairman of the Supreme Court Panel responsible for electoral matters, Justice John Okoro returned Mr. Yusuf’s 165,616 votes, which the lower tribunal invalidated and deducted from the votes cast in his favour. This action automatically gave Mr. Yusuf the unassailable lead that granted him victory.
Before now, NNPP and NAGAFF had embarked on nationwide prayer asking God Almighty to give the Judges the courage to deliver the right judgement which obviously is expected to be in favour of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
