Following the return of normalcy within the fold of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents- ANLCA, after it was bedeviled by serious implosion for five consecutive years, African Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria- APFFLON, has thanked Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria-CRFFN, for brokering peace.

Recall that the Association was torn apart by internal wrangling following Iju Tony Nwabunike’s assumption of office as its National President five years ago. The misunderstanding which produced a parallel executive led by Taiwo Mustapha refused to recognize Nwabunike’s presidency until the expiration of his office last year.

Since then, different efforts have been made to broker peace but all met the brick wall until the intervention of the Chairman, CRFFN Governing Board, Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar and his Committee .

Elated by the reconciliation, APFFLON, has congratulated ANLCA describing the development as “a noble feat” . The Advocacy group through its National President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, in the congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to the media, appreciated the National Executive of ANLCA, its entire membership and specially hailed the Chairman, CRFFN Governing Board, Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar, and his Committee for their efforts in ensuring that peace returned to the Association.

Ogunojemite thanked the “gladiators” for embracing peace at last having agreed to collapse the frontier of division which dealt a dazing blow on not only the association but on the collective interest of Freight Forwarders as some policies and resolutions have quietly been implemented without any form of scrutiny, review or objection because of the protracted crises that rocked ANLCA, which he described as “the Foremost umbrella body of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria”.

The National President of APFFLON added that it was an understatement to say that the 5 years internal wrangling did not negatively affect the industry’s advancement saying that ANLCA remained the apex association and must not fail to retain its pride of place in the comity of both local and International Associations in Trade and Logistics Supply chain.

“On behalf of APFFLON, I sincerely congratulate ANLCA, the Foremost Freight Forwarding Association, and also the Chairman, CRFFN Governing Board, Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar and his Committee for achieving this noble feat, it is indeed an understatement to say that the crises that rocked ANLCA did not negatively impact on the Ports industry, it really did, and going forward, we urge the leadership of ANLCA to preach peace and no more war. The Industry needs its robust contributions to blossom and not crises”.

“I want to appreciate Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha and his men, thanks to  Dr. Kayode Collins Farinto, Chief Tony Iju Nwabunike and his executive, and special appreciation to Chief Taiye Oyeniyi for his gentlemanly disposition.”

“I want to also appreciate Prince Segun Odutan, Alhaji Abdulaziz Mukaila and the Acting Registrar of CRFFN, Mrs. Chinyere Uromta as well as Heads of Government Agencies in the Maritime Industry, who contributed in one way or the other. ”

” I say a big congratulation to all the members of ANLCA and to everyone that made the peace pact achievable.” Ogunojemite stated.
